Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a type of therapy that helps people change unhelpful or unhealthy thoughts, habits and behaviour. It combines the two disciplines of Cognitive Therapy and Behavioural Therapy to achieve this. It can be used to treat issues, such as anxiety and depression. The fundamental principle underlying CBT is that thinking negatively can hold people back in various aspects of life, and that by changing these negative thought patterns, their behaviour will be altered.
